That is wired the wrong way around hence why you are lifting the lever to engage the spindle clockwise and more importantly the oil pump that circulates the oil around the headstock will not work.

Great job! I can see these being used on bolts where you don't want to scratch the finish (i.e. anodized aluminum)

You just can’t do without clamps and having sufficient number to do the job. I decided a couple years ago to invest in the Bessey and over that time purchased 16 of various sizes...never looked back. Definitely a worthwhile investment.

My only question is why did you use both alen and slotted screws and why wouldn't you weld instead of bolting down?

If you didn't have a welder you could tap that piece of angle iron instead.

Video advice: if you film something, but don't use the audio (purely for example) like the part where you punched marks 0:58, don't bother recording the audio in the first place. You'll find that a decent chunk of the footage is going to be audio (depending on how it's recorded). So disable audio (most modern cameras, if not all, have that option) and save yourself transfer time, HDD space, editing time, hassles with encoding and so on.

I clicked on this to see a host of other clamps other than just one high end clamp and one low end clamp. You did not give much information except the Bessy. What about Bora or other parallel clamps. Sorry this was not a good side by side comparison.
