Yeah, for me. Driving 30+ mins to work. In snow at night. I would almost get into an accident every year. So, 3 years ago I got snow tired. And I never had this issue again. And I can drive basically anytime in ohio. Literally no issues. I could more or less drive like normal with my Nokian's. I bought the cheapest nokian's and never regretted it. If you avoid ONE accident it makes up for it in deductible alone. Plus peace of mind. Plus, its super fun driving in snow in a 2 door even when others struggle in a SUV. Traction makes all the difference. Its not about all wheel drive. Considering how little you need all wheel drive. I wouldn't recommend it. If its only for normal snow driving. When snows are enough. In most cases.
